New Model Army – UK Tour March 2010

2010 sees the celebration of 30 years in the business for the five piece outfit who have never lost the ability to evolve, to thrill or to challenge both live and on record. With their inspirational back catalogue of songs, they remain central to the lives of thousands of devoted fans from all walks of life spread across the world.
New Model Army are a global underground cult band. Formed by singer Justin Sullivan in Bradford in 1980, their beginnings were inspired by Punk Rock, Northern Soul and the incendiary atmosphere of the times. Since then, they have had a long, creative and eventful journey. They have been massively influential in ‘post-punk’, ‘folk-rock’, ‘politico-rock’, ‘goth’, ‘metal’ but have successfully and strongly resisted belonging to any of these categories or genres.
In September 2009 the band released their 11th studio album ‘Today Is A Good Day’. With a national UK Spring tour now lined up they are set to embark on nine dates during March of this year and will be showcasing songs from their most recent album and will also be including firm favourites from their extensive musical vaults.
Lyrically the band manage to be poetic whilst spreading a strong political message, a move that has occasionally put them in trouble with governments abroad but has never deterred their unique mentality and vision to create music and move forward together. As their name suggests the band work as an organisation with over ten former members. Their current line up features founding member Justin Sullivan on vocals & guitar, Nelson on bass, Marshall Gill on lead guitar with Michael Dean on drums and Dean White on keyboards.
