Carlisle Folk & Blues Club


On Friday 5th Feb, the club will be hosting a singers and performers night, venue is The Sunset Suite, Carlisle United Football Club, Warwick Road, Carlisle.

Doors open as usual at 7.45pm for 8pm start.

12th Feb - The Carrivick Sisters - hot from BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2010 finals, the twin sisters from Salcombe, Devon, have since a tender age been immersed in music together. Charlotte on vocals, guitar, mandolin, clawhammer banjo, Laura on vocals, dobro, fiddle, cello, guitar. They describe themselves as ‘relaxed bluegrass with slight folk influences at times’! None other than Ralph McTell said of them, “The girls sing and play as one and their work is characterised by great musicality. They are not only very talented instrumentalists and singers but they write really good songs as well.”
